Baraza Resort & Spa is a stunning mix of Arabic architecture and opulent interiors. The Sultans Treatment includes massage, exfoliation and bath. The spa also has a pool with underwater music. An indulgence well worth the splurge- spend a day even if you are not staying in the hotel.

LOCAL:
I love to find traditional treatments and the Mrembo Spa is one of the few offering Swahili beauty rituals. The ‘Singo’ is an invigorating treatment including scrubs with local herbs like clove and sandalwood and a massage. Stunning henna designs (a classic marriage ritual on the island) are available.
