WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF SCOTLAND? The first time I went to a dinner at Meadowhead, the organic farm of very dear family friends of my husbands, I asked if I could do anything to help with dinner. Thinking I would be asked to fold napkins or fill water glasses I was very surprised to be asked by Mrs. Adams to go into the barn to check and see if two pregnant cows had gone into labor yet. Stunned, and being a total city girl, I asked, “how will I know if they’ve gone into labor?” and she said, “trust me, you’ll know”. BEST SOUVENIR? My son - he’s named Roan after the island across from my in-laws house on the north coast. TIPS FOR WOMEN TRAVELING TO SCOTLAND? It’s generally a very safe place. That said, there is a lot of drinking. Be weary of drunken lads trying to chat you up. Micaela Walker 2014 |
