Where would you go if you could experience a place during a different era?
I’d go directly back to Venice in 1949, to hang around with Peggy Guggenheim and her infinite host of cherished and formidable artists, writers, and characters; bohemian heaven.

What work of art, film, or book would you travel through if you could?
If I could travel through a stream of films and books unnoticed, I would go through:
Lawrence of Arabia
Out of Africa
Baraka
Planet Earth: The Complete BBC Series
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay
The Hobbit
And maybe a Monty Python Monty Python  movie or two—but there I’d want to interact.

If you were stranded on an island and had to choose one notable figure from the past or present to be there, who would it be and why?
Oscar Wilde and plenty of good whiskey. What better company? There would be an endless stream of insightful and witty reflections on everything that came to pass. Even any dire circumstances would be funny.
