HOW DID YOU PLAN YOUR TRIP?
I had no set plans. I allotted a month to travel and visited places (Bagan and Inle Lake) in Myanmar recommended by friends. There are many villages to explore. My traveling style is to show up and see who I meet and how all unfolds.

WHAT ITEMS SHOULD ONE BRING TO MYANMAR?
I pack a few of my AWAVEAWAKE dresses, of course. They are so easy to travel with, pack well, and wrinkle-free. I layer them with t-shirts, blouses, and sweaters—depending on the time of day and climate. I also travel with Ayurvedic herbs, oils and lotions from Pratima. The soothing lotion is perfect for any sort of insect bite or blemish and the oils are particularly good salves for warmer weather. Dr. Bronner’s is the best all- in one. I use it as a body wash and to clean delicates. Divinely scented Desert Essence all natural towelettes also come in handy. I never travel without them especially- in places that don’t always have soap or papier toilette.

TIPS FOR WOMEN TRAVELING TO MYANMAR?
Myanmar is an incredibly gentle place and I found it very safe to travel as a woman. I recommend dressing in the style of local women- long skirts and no sleeveless shirts.
