STAY: Casa da Vitoria Pousada is in the stylish neighborhood of Vitoria. Pousadas are the Brazilian equivalent of a bed & breakfast and I would highly recommend that travelers stay at one. Our pousada was a renovated house with beautiful architecture and a gorgeous white interior. Begin the day with a delicious breakfast of local fruits and pastries. TRANSPORTATION: I traveled most of the city by foot. Cabs are accessible in busy parts of the city. Many cab drivers do not speak English so I would recommend writing the address of one’s hotel on a piece of paper or learning a few Portuguese phrases. March 2014 |
