STYLE:

Ecuador’s indigenous tribes are famous for their artisanal clothes and jewelry. If looking for alpaca sweaters, tagua earrings or handmade bags, the Mercado Artesanal La Mariscal is the place to go. This small market has everything, from food to jewelry. Remember, the experience isn’t complete without some haggling.

SPIRIT:

The center of the city is home to many striking churches with gold interiors. The extravagant interiors are examples of grandiose colonial architecture and the colony’s wealth.

SOUVENIR:

Chocolate and coffee from República del Cacao. Ecuador is known for having the best cacao in the world- this store is the best place to buy presents for everybody. The shop is also in one of the coolest areas in Quito and has an outdoor dining area, to enjoy a hot chocolate or espresso.
