  CULTURE:
The Norwegian Folk Museum in Oslo is an open-air museum with 160 buildings from all over Norway. It was so fun to explore buildings from different time periods. There were village-like set ups with a post-war corner store and humble houses and a church from 1200. My favorite was an apartment building, Wessels Gate 16, and each apartment is from a different era. There’s even a 1970s, Ikea catalog apartment in bold primary colors, pale pine and the grooviest interior.

DON'T MISS---
The Holmenkollen, Ski Museum in Oslo is worth a visit. I loved all the ski memorabilia and artifacts from polar exploration. They have explorer Fridtjof Nansen’s canoe that he made from his sled and paddled 90 kilometers over four days across a Greenland fjord. As well as equipment and clothing from Roald Amundsen’s 3000 kilometer journey on skis to the South Pole. The highlight of Holmenkollen, is the Olympic ski jump tower. An elevator takes you to the top and you can look down: Epic; terrifying; a tiny bit thrilling.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF NORWAY?
Walking through Nygardsparken in Bergen and seeing families tobogganing in the low, dreamy light.

BEST SOUVENIR?
I’m in love with my stash from Fretex. I would have bought more candle holders if I could do it again. Because, why not.

TAKK(that’s Norwegian for thank you).
