  24 HOUR ITINERARY:
Scotland isn’t a place to be rushed through. But if I had only one day I would go to a Highland Games. They have them all over Scotland, mostly during the summer months. They have livestock on display (some of the fanciest chickens I’ve ever seen) as well as drum and bagpipe contests, and insane traditional feats of strength such as toss the caber, which involves carrying and throwing a giant tree trunk. They are a fun, crazy mix of a renaissance faire, a county fair and the St. Patricks Day Parade. Kitchy but super fun.
Blair Castle is the house of the Clan Murray, which is my husbands family name (although likely no direct relation) which, as well as being an amazing house to visit, hosts traditional games once a year.
I would end the day with a walk nearby in Pitlochery followed by a dinner of local fare.
