What has been your most memorable meal while traveling?
A delicious orgy of plantains, okra and other home-cooked delights at Patrick’s, a roadside restaurant in Grenada.

What moment from a trip still makes you laugh?
Following a bunch of musicians I’d just met to a Rasta bar in New Orleans. I was sitting alone sipping a drink when two men started talking to me; it turned out we had a common musician friend who lived in Beirut. They took me to the Dragon’s Den, which was packed with people dancing to smooth reggae beats. And smoking, of course. We ended up in a tiny bar where couples danced to live swing music. It was a deliciously unexpected night.
