What moment from a trip still makes you laugh?
On a birthday mission to Tulum (again!), I was delightfully taken by surprise during a long beach walk. I noticed a dark shape moving in the shallows. There, a small Mayan fisherman materialized. He emerged holding a thin metal rod laden with a cornucopia from the sea: three huge lobsters, several delicious looking fish, and an octopus on top, molesting the whole lot below with his tentacles. In his other hand, the fisherman held a huge fish by the gills - the creature was practically as big as he was. I couldn’t wipe the amazed look off my face. I had been wishing for abundance on the occasion of my birthday, and here was my birthday dinner, just come out of the sea right in front of me.
