"The world is a book and those who don't travel read only one page." ~St. Augustine In a world of online everything, where you can tap and swipe your way around any foreign city using a slick mobile device, why would anyone want to use an actual travel guide (you know, the paper kind…those dusty, smelly things also known as books)? Digital connectivity is not always guaranteed, for one thing. For another, books stand up to the abuse of travel a lot better than electronic devices (an iPhone won’t withstand being stepped on by an elephant). And finally, actual books offer a more visceral, real time scrapbook of your travels, imbedded with thoughts, notes and memories scribbled into the margins. They can also be loaned (how quaint!).
