What is the first trip you ever took on your own?
My first trip was after I graduated college. I went backpacking through Europe on a Eurail Pass. I was on a budget so I stayed mainly in one or two star hotels or hostels…so I can't really recommend any of them- but it was a wonderful experience to go all around Europe and discover many cities. I still have the backpack I used and I honestly could not travel for one month with just that one bag on my back! One of my favorite memories of that summer was ending the trip at my grandmother's house in Chingford. My mom is English so I stayed with my grandmother and I remember the first night coming home there—having a wonderful bath, a meal of lamb and mint jelly and then a hot water bottle under my covers to warm up the bed. Traveling Europe was amazing, but coming back to England to my grandmother's house was so nice after weeks in hotels.
