This is a city I feel safe in. I don't watch my belongings, I forget to zip my purse and lock my door. If I'm tired during a hike I'll put my bag down next to a lonely tree and pick it up later. Here on Hollywood Road, in front of a store selling antiques worth thousands of Hong Kong dollars, someone tied a bag of their belongings to the gate for safekeeping. Using flimsy string. Curious curios, perhaps?

In this city there could be stacks of cash in a satchel on the street and no one would snoop. Good as gold.
